In light of the recent floods, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that it will not charge individuals who opt to replace missing/damaged documents including probational licences as well as registration cards and full driver's licences (CDL).

Datuk Sri Ismail Ahmad, JPJ director-general, has stated that the initiative was undertaken to provide as much financial aid to the victims as possible. The cost for a replacement copy of a learner's licence is RM10 with probationary and full driver's licences rated at RM20. Replacement registration cards for motorcycles and cars are priced at RM20 and RM50, respectively.

To apply for a replacement, affected individuals need only to show up at respective JPJ quarters with the original damaged paperwork or an issue of a police report made in relation to the missing document(s).
