2015 Nissan 370Z NISMO

The wraps have come off the 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo, the performance division's latest attempt at sharpening the ageing sports coupé. The new tuner specialunveiled in front of the Z-car faithful at this year's ZDayZ festival in North Carolina – features a number of tweaks inside and out to better align it with the rest of Nismo's newest fleet, in particular the GT-R Nismo.

Nowhere else is this made clearer than through its looks, which feature a more complex and aggressive bodykit. Up front, there is a large air dam flanked by two red "whiskers" that continue around the vehicle, as well as LED daytime running lights, darkened headlight surrounds and Nismo badging.

The side sills and rear valence have also been redesigned, while on the boot lid the Brother's-spec rear wing has been replaced by a subtler integrated spoiler. The 19-inch RAYS lightweight forged alloys also gain a new design and a grey machined finish.

Inside, there are better-bolstered Recaro bucket seats upholstered in red and black leather, while the new Tech variant gets the company's hard drive-based Nissan Navigation System with a seven-inch touchscreen, rear view camera, Bose Audio System and satellite radio, among others.

No changes have been made to the tuned 3.7 litre V6, so power remains at 350 hp (18 more than the standard 370Z) and 375 Nm. Ditto the uprated suspension, limited slip differential and brakes, parts inherited from previous years.

What has changed, however, is the option of a new seven-speed automatic transmission in addition to the existing six-speed manual with the throttle-blipping SynchroRev Match function. The new gearbox can also rev match on downshifts and features Adaptive Shift Control as well as a manual shifting mode with paddle shifters.
