top gear trio

It was announced last week that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have got back together for a new show, to be produced by former Top Gear producer Andy Wilman for Amazon Prime. Now, we have more details on the upcoming show.

Wilman told The Hollywood Reporter that the show featuring the trio will be similar to BBC's Top Gear but will incorporate "lots of newness" including a "new look, new elements, [and a] new home." There were other offers on the table for sure, but they were won over by Amazon's "money, freedom and a love of quality," Wilman said.

He added that the show will be launched next fall and will run for three seasons, each with 12 episodes that last approximately an hour. The producer suggested that the show might stick to a weekly release.

"Customers told us they wanted to see the team back on screen, and we are excited to make that happen. Millions of Prime members are already enjoying our ground-breaking original shows. We can't wait to see what Jeremy, Richard, James and the team will create in what is sure to be one of the most globally anticipated shows of 2016," said Jay Marine, VP of Amazon Prime Video EU.
