Long-awaited by roadster fans, Mazda has released a TV commercial that might accurately depict what every MX-5 owner secretly does when they take their brand new MX-5 out for a trip to the grocery store. Titled #ReasonsToDrive, it makes perfect sense.

While the label "weekend car" may be a tad overused, the Mazda MX-5 is a fun two-door vehicle for any day of the week, with a 2.0 litre SkyActiv-G petrol unit that makes 155 hp and 200 Nm of torque. That might not be a lot, but it still has the go to get the wind in your hair, that's for sure.

Unfortunately there won't be a close-ratio manual transmission paired to the Malaysian-specced ND MX-5, as it will be arriving with a six-speed SkyActiv-Drive auto shifter instead. Nevertheless, expect it to be a thrill to drive, especially when the MX-5 is out on the open road.

The ever-popular Jinba Ittai two-door convertible, which has just hit the Australian continent, priced at AUD$31,990 (RM92,411), is expected to be sold between the range of RM190k-210k over here.
