Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has expanded its service network to Sarawak with the recent appointment Greatwall Group of Companies as its first service representative in the Borneo state. Two 2S (service and spare parts) centres will be set up, one each in Sibu and Kuching.

"The appointment of Greatwall as our authorised service rep is an important first-step for us to better service our customers in Sarawak. This partnership holds true to Volvo's philosophy of "Designed Around You" which emphasises a holistic experience for our customers, from the design, performance, and safety systems in our cars, to the quality of service that we provide," said Keith Schäfer, MD of VCM.

Headed by MD Toh Chee Wui, Greatwall Group of Companies is a veteran of the auto services industry in Sarawak and currently operates a wide network of service centres throughout the state. Greatwall may become an authorised sales representative for VCM in Sarawak in the future.

Volvo-XC60-Facelift
The Volvo XC60 SUV is now available in facelifted form, with a new 245 hp/350 Nm Drive-E engine

Since the launch of the V40 and V40 Cross Country in the middle of 2013, VCM has been actively improving its service offerings, which included a revamp of its service module. The brand has nine service locations throughout Malaysia - Pulau Pinang, Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor, Sabah, Labuan and now Sarawak are covered.

This expansion, together with the V40 and the facelifted XC60 (new Drive-E engine, launched in June), helped VCM achieve fairly positive market response with year-to-date sales (July 2014) recording a 29% year-on-year growth.
