Unofficial artist's renderings of the 2015 Kia Sorento have surfaced on the Kia enthusiast blog Kia World, which are claimed to have been based on recent spyshots of the next-generation seven-seater SUV.
Handsome, isn't it? Judging by these sketches, the new Sorento will feature a rounder design than on the past two generations. At the front lies a face that is inspired by the new Carnival, with a large chrome "tiger nose" grille connected to the headlights. The rear, meanwhile, looks to be an evolution of the current model's rump, with narrower tail lights, a cleaner rear valence design and twin exhaust outlets.
Slated to be unveiled in Korea in September, the new Sorento is expected to be based on the new Carnival, and the current model's engines will reportedly soldier on. These powertrains include 2.4 litre inline-four and 3.3 litre V6 petrol engines as well as a 2.2 litre turbodiesel four-pot.
Also rumoured to be on the cards are the 2.0 litre petrol turbo engine from the US-market Sonata as well as a plug-in hybrid with a 2.3 litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor and a 47 kWh battery.
