It's nearly three years since the CD391 Ford Mondeo made its global debut in Amsterdam back in late 2012, or more than three and a half if you consider the North American Fusion that premiered earlier that year, and so it's about time for the D-segment offering to get its mid-life rework.
A mildly clad Fusion facelift mule has been spotted testing in the States by our spy pixmen, and by the looks of it there aren't going to be too many changes to the car. Tucked away under the nose covering should be a revised bumper and possibly slightly redesigned headlights.
New tail lights are set to feature, and the rear bumper should also be restyled - interestingly, the mule has twin circular exhaust tailpipes (the current Fusion either comes dressed with a single circular pipe tip or recessed, flush-to-bumper twin pipe receptacles, the latter as seen on the Malaysian Mondeo)
The cabin should get its fair share of revisions, and there's speculation that a rotary dial gear selector (a la Jaguar and Range Rover) will replace the classical gear shift seen now. Otherwise, this looks to be a mild refresh job, and the changes seen here will likely find their way on to the European Mondeo version sometime next year.
