The next time you feel compelled to pat yourself on the back after pulling of a parallel parking manoeuvre, think of Han Yue. The Chinese stunt driver and drifter cemented his name in the Guinness book of records after parallel parking a MINI Cooper inside a gap with less than 8 cm between his car and the others.
Held during the China Drift Championship in Chongqing, Han Yue broke the previous record - set by Alistair Moffatt in 2013 - of 8.6 cm. No stranger to setting records, he also parked a MINI Cooper Chinese Job special edition inside a spot with a gap no longer than 15 cm in 2012.
Not content with one world record, Han Yue was also responsible for helping Taiwanese drifter Zhang Shengjun set another one on the same day itself. For this particular record attempt, Han Yue was tasked to keep another MINI Cooper on two wheels for one minute.
As he did so, Zhang Shengjun - behind the wheel of a BMW M4 - set a new world record for most donuts, a total of ten, executed around a car driving on two wheels. Now is it just us or is there a sudden surge of automotive-related world records taking place lately?
