Hot on the heels of the new Ford Everest, it's now nearly time to update its sibling – the T6 Ford Ranger – after more than three years on the market. To that end, Ford has released a teaser photo showing the front three-quarter view of the revamped pickup in full, with the new front end in clear view.
From the looks of it, the new Ranger will receive a similar face to the Everest, but with a slightly different bumper design and a larger, brasher chrome front grille that flows into the lower air intake. There's also a new wheel design, and we're expecting some changes to the rear of the truck as well. There may even be a redesigned interior, if the Everest is an accurate preview of what's to come.
Engine choices should also mirror the Everest, utilising the familiar 2.2 litre four-cylinder and 3.2 litre five-cylinder Duratorq TDCi turbodiesels. Now that the new 2.0 litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol four is found on the SUV, will we see it on the truck, replacing the existing 2.5 litre Duratec naturally-aspirated mill? The current Getrag six-speed gearboxes – the MT82 manual and the 6R80 automatic – should also be retained.
The revised T6 Ford Ranger is set to go on sale in 2015, and word on the vine is that it will reach Malaysian shores sometime in the middle of next year.
