BMW M4 MotoGP Safety Car-03

We saw the Alfa Romeo 4C WTCC Safety Car yesterday, now we have the BMW M4 Coupe Safety Car for the 2014 MotoGP season. The 431 hp/550 Nm M4 is one of five different BMW models acting as official MotoGP cars, and it will make its debut at the opening round in Qatar.

The M4 Safety Car sports a catalogue of BMW M Performance Parts, including a titanium BMW M Performance exhaust system with carbon finishers, black front grille, front splitter with blade, rear diffuser and carbon rear spoiler. BMW M Performance carbon mirror caps and side skirts optimise the M4's appearance and aerodynamics. The bonnet has a motorsport lock.

It's souped up inside as well. The M Performance steering wheel (with race display at 12 o'clock) is wrapped in Alcantara, while the double-clutch transmission's gear lever is in carbon. Stainless steel pedals are also used, as are BMW M Performance foot mats. The Recaro racing seat and Schroth belts provide the necessary comfort and safety on track.

Safety car essentials include LED lights on the front apron, LED lights on the roof, and striking livery to ensure that it stands out ahead of the pack. BMW is no stranger to this - it has been supplying safety cars to MotoGP for awhile now, and past models include the M6 Gran Coupe, 1 Series M Coupe and X6 M.
