The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT continues its winter testing run, and as this spy video shows, the company seems to have already gotten the engine sounds down pat. Even at low revs, that unmistakable V8 burble sounds magnificent, doesn't it?

The video also shows that Mercedes' 911 fighter (codenamed C190) will keep the classic long nose, short tail proportions that also characterised the SLS AMG. The exterior mixes classic design cues such as twin bulges on the bonnet, large front grille and vents behind the front wheels with the shapely design direction the company currently employs, as seen on the S-Class Coupe.

Interestingly, the three prototypes in the video each wear different exhaust pipes, one of them wearing dual exhaust outlets as opposed to the quad pipes of the other two. This likely means that there will be different engine choices made available.

Indeed, sources indicate that the AMG GT will come with at least three engine choices, presumably featuring AMG's new 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 that will also power the next C 63 AMG. The base engine is expected to produce 400-450 hp, while the range-topping Black Series will kick out a fearsome 600 hp.

And as if there were still lingering doubts about Mercedes being serious about taking the fight to the Porsche 911, these prototypes were also spotted alongside a couple of benchmark cars, one of them being a 991 Turbo S (an SLS AMG GT Roadster Final Edition being another).
