Here's one for the budding engineer in you: Infiniti has opened applications for the Infiniti Performance Engineering Academy, a competition that gives students a chance to become Formula 1 engineers at Infiniti Red Bull Racing in the UK.
Announced last year, the programme will see the top three applicants working on a 12-month engineering assignment with the four-time world champions at their base in Milton Keynes. Apart from working with both the team as well as Infiniti's road car engineers in nearby Cranfield, they will also receive free accommodation, a full salary, an Infiniti company car as well as a behind-the-scenes access to the British Grand Prix.
According to Andreas Sigl, Infiniti global director of Formula 1, the company will be looking for candidates that "really demonstrate they understand the potential of crossover between Formula 1 and road car technologies", adding that the company is pushing for further success on road and track.
"What Infiniti is offering engineering students around the world is something quite unique," said team principal Christian Horner. "We're fully supportive of this fantastic global initiative and we look forward to working with the budding new talent that comes from it."
Excited? Better hurry – candidates must upload their resume and submit a 500-word entry to the website before April 11. The programme is open to final year undergraduate engineering students in Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
