Following the Chinese's government approval of its joint-venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp in December 2013, Renault has announced that the first vehicle to be built at the new plant in Wuhan will be a "C-segment crossover", and that it will be launched in China in 2016.
That can really only mean the new Renault Koleos, which our Continental car paparazzi recently spotted testing. Dongfeng-Renault says the first prototypes were manufactured and homologated this autumn.
Meanwhile, work on the new plant in Wuhan is going according to schedule - construction has been completed, and the assembly lines are currently being installed. Additionally, the B-segment Captur is set to go on sale next year.
On July 1, the Dongfeng-Renault Automotive Company (DRAC), as it's officially called, took over management of the Renault Beijing Automotive Company's teams in charge of selling and marketing imported Renault vehicles in China.
