Land Rover has come out with a new video clip on the Range Rover Sport SVR, which made its debut at Pebble Beach back in August. The 90-second film demonstrates the adjustability, poise and body control of the new SVR, all in dramatic fashion.
The RRS SVR is powered by an uprated version of the AJ-V8 Gen III 5.0 litre supercharged V8 offering 550 PS and 680 Nm, 40 PS and 56 Nm more than the regular Range Rover Sport Supercharged. Power from the mill is channeled through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission to a permanent four-wheel drive system.
Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 260 km/h, making it the fastest, most powerful Land Rover ever built. The numbers were also good enough to get the SVR to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 8 minutes 14 seconds, a record for an SUV around the Green Hell.
The order books for the vehicle opened in October, and the first deliveries of the second offering to come out of Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) – after the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 – are due to begin sometime in the first quarter of next year.
