Earlier this month, it was reported that the headquarters of the Red Bull F1 team - based in Milton Keynes - was broken into in an overnight raid, resulting in the disappearance of more than 60 of the team's trophies. While the trophies have significant sentimental value, the actual worth is not much.
"While the trophies mean an enormous amount to the team, their intrinsic value is low. Many of the trophies on display were replicas," Red Bull F1 team boss Christian Horner told the Daily Mail. The break-in is likely to prompt a limitation of access to the site, which will no doubt upset visitors.
The latest update surrounding the case involves the discovery of around 20 of the team's trophies in a lake near Sandhurst. It was known that a passerby had spotted the trophies at first before informing the authorities. The local police force are now on the lookout for a gang of six men in a silver 4x4.
