Infiniti has unveiled the powerplant that's going to be installed in the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge. The configuration will seem very familiar to you - 3.8 litres, six cylinders in a V6 layout, and two turbochargers. Sounds like the Nissan GT-R's engine doesn't it?
The engine will put out 568 PS and a massive 600Nm of torque, sending power through a 7-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels in a 50/50 front to rear torque split all wheel drive system. Infiniti estimated a 100km/h sprint time of under four seconds.
First unveiled at this year' Detroit Motor Show, the concept car represents a design vision of what a high performance version of the new Infiniti Q50 could be. Featuring bespoke aerodynamic carbon fibre bodywork, Eau Rouge is lower and wider than the standard car.
Almost every exterior panel is bespoke, with only the front doors and the arch of the roof pillars carried over from the stock Q50. The unique fenders widen the Q50's stance by 20mm.
