Reader Adam Shaharel just sent us these pictures of a Ford Fusion in Malaysia. Thanks, buddy! Spotted on the ELITE Highway heading to Shah Alam, the D-segment sedan was caught completely uncovered, which is rare in this day and age. Not that we're complaining, that is.
The silver sedan looks rather flash under the Malaysian sun, with its dual exhaust ports and twenty-spoke alloy wheels (yes, we counted them) standing out rather well. We can't quite make out the Aston Martin-esque front grille, but the swept-back headlight and matching tail lamps are clear to be seen.

Ford's Malaysian distributor, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), confirmed to us at KLIMS13 – where a Ford Fusion Hybrid was displayed - that the upcoming Mondeo replacement will be badged as the Fusion. Makes sense, really, considering that the Mondeo nameplate never really caught on here.
When it arrives in Malaysia, the Fusion will fit above the Fiesta and Focus in Ford's Malaysian lineup. It's not the only car on SDAC's horizon, of course. As we already know, the Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost is set for an April launch, while the Fiesta ST and EcoSport will be here later in the year. The Transit van, meanwhile, has just been announced.
