The latest Mercedes-Benz C-Class has already been caught on camera in Malaysia, so its local introduction should be sooner, rather than later. For the early birds who think the W205 looks too plain, tuning company Brabus has just revealed its styling package for the new compact executive sedan.
Part of its standard exterior/interior dress-up range rather than the extravagant 700+ hp bespoke monsters, the Brabus W205 C-Class package includes unique air intake inserts, a front splitter and rear diffuser that are installed on the car's standard (non-AMG Line) bumpers. A subtle boot lid spoiler and a collection of Brabus badges are included too, of course.
More than just an aesthetic add-on, Brabus claims that the aerodynamically optimised bodykit minimises negative lift on the front axle, and in doing so improves handling stability at high speeds. Also affecting body control positively are the Brabus lowering kits and sports suspensions that are co-developed with Bilstein.
A good selection of Brabus wheels are available, in sizes ranging from 18- to 20-inches. Pictured here are massive 20-inch Monoblock F, R and Q designs, with staggered tyre sizes – 225/35 R20 up front and 255/30 R20 in the back.
Together with the styling kit, the tuning firm also announced its entry-level engine tuning programme for the W205 Mercedes C-Class. Beginning with the 184 hp/300 Nm C 200 petrol model, the plug-and-play BRABUS PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit boosts outputs by 41 hp and 30 Nm, lowering its 0-100 km/h from 7.5 to 7.0 seconds.
To be made available soon is the PowerXtra D3 pack for the 170 hp/400 Nm C 220 BlueTEC turbodiesel variant. Here, an extra 50 hp and 50 Nm is on offer, cutting its 0-100 km/h by a full second, down to 7.1 seconds. Tuning kits for other models in the C-Class range are being developed.
Here in Malaysia, a kitted-up Brabus A 200 is available for RM218,888 through Naza-Brabus Motor. Whether or not the styling and/or performance kits for the new C-Class will be marketed here remains to be seen, but you want one already, don't you?
