aeterno condico

More on the Thai sports car that's supposed to debut in 2016. A second teaser image of the design has been released, and also revealed is the name of the car and the company that will build it - the Condico, as it's called, will be made by a firm called Aeterno Motors, a new luxury and premium sports automaker to be based in Bangkok.

The Condico - which is set to premiere late next year - derives its name from Latin, which the company says translates to "to settle" as in "to settle a discussion or argument," or to "agree upon a conversation or topic."

Aeterno states that the Condico will be a mid-engined premium sports car aimed at taking the fight to the likes of the Porsche 911 and the Lotus Evora, and will be priced in the region of THB 3,000,000 to 4,500,000 (USD 85,000 to 130,000) when it arrives.

The Condico is penned by Jennarong Muengtaweepongsa, who has been releasing car designs under the name VanaticalDesign (which originally teased the then unnamed Condico last month). Among the renderings the teenager from Bangkok has made are the Aston Martin DB11 Concept, the PSC Motors SP-200 SIN, the Koenigsegg Legera Concept and the Jaguar "Envision" XK Concept.

The sports car is no pipe dream or flight of fantasy, the designer boldly says. "You hear about new startup car companies on the news daily, most become vapourware, or if they come true, they're usually never really impressive, bring nothing new to the table, occupy a segment with no market or no one knows about it, and most are just plain badly designed or made. Well, we're here to change that."

Interestingly, the Condico isn't the only vehicle mentioned in the accompanying text for the teaser image - there's mention of a Vindico and Eradico as well, so Aeterno looks to be playing with quite a few cards. Expect to hear more again on this one in the near future.
