mitsubishi-triton-facelift-rendered

The 2015 Mitsubishi Triton may be a relatively new kid on the block but that hasn't stopped rendering maestro, Theophilus Chin, from taking his skills and applying it to Mitsubishi's latest pick-up truck - especially when one considers that its SUV twin, the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, has just been revealed.

As expected, Theo's take on the Mitsubishi Triton facelift sports the marque's latest take on its 'Dynamic Shield' front fascia. As seen on the Pajero Sport, the rendered pick-up possesses a face that's loaded with a myriad of aesthetic details which include a stylised chrome bar that begins at the base of the headlamps and zigzags its way towards the fog lamp housings.

In between it all, the upper half of the grille receives a heavy dose of bling while the lower half is occupied by a black, honeycomb layout - the overall effect certainly looks to build on the Triton's already tough outlook. Should these changes materialise for real, expect the Triton to carry forward the same set of mechanicals.

Under the bonnet, the 2015 Mitsubishi Triton is powered by a choice of a 2.5 litre VGT engine with 178 PS/400 Nm of torque, a 2.5 litre commonrail turbo with 136 PS/324 Nm and a 2.5L DOHC common rail engine with 110 PS/200 Nm, depending on trim level. The new 182 PS/430 Nm 2.4 litre turbodiesel MIVEC engine misses the boat to Malaysia - the same mill serves in the aforementioned Pajero Sport, as well.
