This is what the dashboard of the upcoming 2015 Kia Sorento will look like. This official sketch by Kia shows a stylish evolution of recent Kia efforts in the Carnival and Carens MPVs. It also follows the minimalist trend seen on Audis and Mazdas to some extent, as opposed to the button-rich centre stack of today's car. The gearknob looks pretty unique, too.

Kia says that its Frankfurt design team was influenced by the "finest modern Swiss watches" in the design phase. The smoothly-contoured cabin features a higher proportion of soft-touch materials, leather and stitching, as well as Kia's latest HMI (human-machine interface), the company says.

This cabin preview comes after Kia released official sketches of the third-generation Sorento's exterior and a video teaser late last month. The SUV features a bold, wide "tiger nose" grille that's connected to slim headlamps. The video teaser reveals a Y-spoke wheel design.
