Proton's upcoming answer to the hugely popular Perodua Myvi will have a low-specced base model, as confirmed by these new spyshots sent in by reader Putra Azran. The pictures show a Proton P2-30A GSC (Global Small Car) on test wearing steel wheels and plastic wheel caps for the first time.

This confirms that the new B-segment hatchback will have at least three different variants: this base model, a mid-range version with six-spoke alloy wheels and a range-topper with all-around bodykit and (what appears to be) larger 10-spoke wheels.

So far, we've already seen two different specification levels for the interior - one with fabric seats and a conventional head unit, and another with leather upholstery and a touch-screen media system. How each variant will be dressed up inside, we'll just have to wait and see.

Slowly but surely, we're uncovering the Proton's new model bit by bit, and it shouldn't be long now till the big unveil. For more information about the Myvi-rival, refer to our comprehensive Proton P2-30A GSC info hub.
