This is the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 that the British brand will bring to Geneva 2014. Track-honed excitement for the road is the remit, and authentically 'analogue' is how Ian Minards, director of product development, describes the N430.
Available in Coupe or Roadster forms, the V8 Vantage N430 boasts a power hike to 436 PS at 7,300 rpm that brings its output up to that of the V8 Vantage S. That power feeds the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, with the option of a close-ratio seven-speed Sportshift II AMT. The 4.7 litre V8 is complemented by a sports exhaust, aerodynamics from GT racing and a competition-derived braking system.
Lightweight and sporting-biased features abound. Carbon fibre and Kevlar seats, and ten-spoke forged alloys in a new graphite painted finish, together yield a weight saving of 20 kg. The V8 Vantage N430 is capable of 306 km/h (190 mph), with an 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) time that drops to 4.6 seconds.
The cars pictured here wear liveries with optional club sports graphics packs - inspired in part by the CC100 Speedster concept and nodding to AM's most famous motorsport triumph, the DBR1.
Inside, machined carbon sill plaques, N430 seat logos, black magnesium paddle-shifts (or carbon fibre gearshift surround) and black anodised rotaries, among other things, set the N430 apart. Optional features include a 1000W Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system with ICEpower technology.
Priced from £89,995 (RM493,869) in the UK, first deliveries are expected to begin in September.
