Completing Volvo's trilogy of concept cars penned under the helm of new design director Thomas Ingenlath is the Volvo Concept Estate, teased in these series of pictures which came from an unlikely source – the website of Swedish raincoat maker Stutterheim, who are creating a cover for the new concept.

The handmade cover masks a car that is set to feature Volvo's new design language previewed by the Concept Coupe and Concept XC Coupe, including a bold rectangular grille, prominent haunches and C-shaped tail lights that run up the rear hatch on this particular concept.

These details dress up what appears to be a shooting brake bodystyle in the mould of the classic P1800ES, although unlike that car the Concept Estate does not feature a glass tailgate. An aggressive rear diffuser design and large five-spoke wheels also similar to those on the previous two concepts complete the look.

The Volvo Concept Estate will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of weeks and is expected to be a look into the future of the iconic Volvo estate car. It will share the versatile Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) with the Concept Coupe and XC Coupe as well as all upcoming Volvos, including the next XC90.
