At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Citroen will be showing off a hot version of the Chinese market DS 5LS Sedan. An nod to the French brand's World Rally Championship pedigree, the Citroen DS 5LS R concept is powered by a 1.6 litre turbo engine with 300 hp and 400 Nm.
The chassis has been lowered by 15 mm, and the concept has wider front tracks and a sequential gearbox controlled by paddles behind the steering wheel. The show car boasts uprated suspension and brakes, as well as the liberal use of real carbon fibre.
The concept, in anodised Carmine Red paint with a matte metallic finish, shows off its 'R' status with wide side stripes in matte carbon grey on the front doors. The 'DS Wings' grille is finished in carbon grey dark chrome and the 20-inch wheels are 'sculpturally designed' and carbon-coloured to match the body.
Inside, the DS 5LS R is fully lined with leather and Alcantara, including the dashboard and steering wheel. The DS identity is reinforced via a three-fabric (aniline full-grain leather, DS-embossed leather, Alcantara) version of the 'watchstrap' upholstery. The seats, dashboard, upper door panels and central armrest are finished with pearl top-stitching in Carmine Red. CF inserts complete the package.
