Citroen Malaysia has been relaying teaser after teaser of the DS3 onto its Facebook page for a few weeks now. Yes, the first of the new-age DS models is the last to arrive at our shores, but it's better late then never, right?

The teasers indicate that the car, which will arrive over the coming weeks, will feature a high specification (likely to be the DStyle Plus trim) to soften the blow of a potentially high price, which is estimated to be RM125,000. Equipment shown in the pictures include LED daytime running lights, 17-inch 'Bellone' alloy wheels and the "3D" LED taillights that are fast becoming signature Citroen design elements.

Inside, the Citroen DS3 looks set to feature leather seats and door cards, automatic air conditioning and what Citroen Malaysia claims to be a "premium" CD player and HiFi system (possibly the Connect Signature pack featuring Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an AUX jack and an upgraded HiFi system complete with an extra speaker and a subwoofer). They have even teased multiple colours for the key fobs, suggesting that they may be colour-coded according to the car.

As previously reported, the sole engine choice for the Malaysian-spec Citroen DS3 at launch will be the 1.6 litre VTi engine, shared with the 208. This 16-valve, naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine makes 122 PS at 6,000 rpm and 160 Nm at 4,250 rpm, and it will be mated to a four-speed automatic. The acceleration time from 0-100 km/h is quoted at 10.9 seconds and the top speed is 190 km/h.

So, is the style factor and high equipment level enough to justify the price, or will you choose to save almost RM30,000 by plumping for the 208 VTi instead?
