Honda South America Ltda has released a small gallery of the production Honda HR-V for the Brazilian market, which will be shown at the upcoming Sao Paulo motor show. Honda is planning to launch the HR-V in Brazil in the first quarter of next year.
The Brazil-market HR-V will be powered by a 1.8 litre flex fuel engine (ethanol blend compatability is a must in South America's largest market) combined with a CVT gearbox. The SOHC i-VTEC four-pot is said to offer both driving performance that's equivalent to cars in the class above, and fuel economy.
Honda is progessively introducing the HR-V in the world's biggest markets - we've already seen the JDM Vezel, US-market HR-V, China's XR-V with a unique face, the European HR-V with i-DTEC power and of course, our ASEAN HR-V that made its debut at the 2014 Indonesian International Motor Show.
Two engines will be offered in Indonesia, a 120 PS/145 Nm 1.5 litre from the City and Jazz, and a 1.8 litre pushing 139 PS and 169 Nm. Both are paired to a CVT, but the smaller engine can be had with a five-speed manual in the Republic, where local production will be starting in January 2015.
