The Subaru Forester STI has been teased ahead of its official world debut, which is set to take place on November 25. Subaru enthusiasts will remember the last Forester STI, which was launched back in 2004 for the Japanese domestic market.

Just last month, Subaru presented the Forester STI tS concept which looks almost identical to the car teased here. The production version is expected to come with a more aggressive bodykit and bigger rims with larger brakes underneath, along with a smattering of Cherry Blossom Red highlights both inside and out.

The Subaru Forester STI is expected to debut with a variant of the EJ257 2.5 litre, four-cylinder turbocharged boxer engine from the Subaru WRX STI, which produces 296 hp and 407 Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox will be the likely partner.

The big question is whether or not Subaru has plans to sell the car outside of Japan. Should the Japanese choose to keep it for themselves, a "JDM Forester STI" could be powered by the 2.0 litre EJ207 engine found in the JDM-spec WRX STI - that one comes with 304 hp and 422 Nm of torque.
