Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced a raft of changes to its commuter service scheduled with the updates set to be implemented on July 1. The list of changes include the frequency of trains on the Rawang-Tanjung Malim line. From 5 pm to 9 pm, the frequency of trains will now be every 30 minutes and 40 minutes for the last train every day.
As for the Sungai Gadut-Rawang route, the frequency of trains after 8 pm from Monday to Friday is 30 minutes and 40 minutes for the last train. On weekends and public holidays, the frequency of trains from 11 am to 8 pm will be every 20 minutes instead - the same changes are mirrored on the Pelabuhan Klang-Batu Caves line.
In line with the coming festive season, KTMB president, Lt-Col (Rtd) Sarbini Tijan, has stated that uniformed as well as plainclothes police officers will be on duty at all stations and strategic locations to ensure the safety of commuters. He also urged members of the public to report anything suspicious to the police or KTM staff.
