Yet another one to look out for at the upcoming 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed! Following its Cologne preview and Geneva world debut, the 2016 Ford Focus RS will now have its UK premiere. To make matters more interesting, a certain Mr. Ken Block will pilot the hot hatch up the fabled Goodwood hillclimb.
To keep us from starving, Ford has released this morsel of a video showing the third-generation hi-po hatch warming up at the marque's Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium. As expected, the minute-long video provides us with plenty of sideways action and smoke - all made possible with the deactivation of the car's ESP and traction control systems. Following that, the car gets loaded onto a trailer, destined for Goodwood.
In case you've forgotten, the 2016 Ford Focus RS arrives powered by a turbocharged, direct-injected 2.3 litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine producing in excess of 320 PS. For the first time in a Focus RS, a six-speed manual transmission sends the power to all four corners.
Also, the Focus RS will be offered as a global model this time round - Asian and American markets are set to receive it. Production is slated to begin at the end of 2015 with the first customer cars rolling out by 2016.
