Lotus Cars USA will be looking to make 2015 a big year as the brand motions to expand its dealer network in the continent to include 47 outlets - West Covina and Thermal in California, Scottsdale, Arizona and Calgary, Alberta. The move will coincide with the introduction of the Lotus Evora 400 for the US market.

Revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Lotus Evora 400 will make its US debut as a 2017 model year unit - deliveries are set to commence in December 2015. "The Lotus Evora 400 combines high performance with the legendary Lotus benchmark handling. It is lighter, more efficient and dynamically better than ever," said Lotus Cars CEO, Jean-Marc Gales (pictured below, left).

The Lotus Evora 400 is motivated by a supercharged 3.5 litre V6 engine pumping out 400 hp and 410 Nm of torque. Mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, the car rockets from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and powers on to a top speed of 300 km/h. More than just a straight-line performer, the Evora 400 has put down a lap time of 1:32 around the Hethel test circuit - six seconds faster than the Evora S.

Aside from the that, Lotus Cars USA, which is currently based in Lawrenceville, Georgia, will co-locate to Lotus Engineering, the latter situated in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The move is touted to help ensure the growth of both divisions "while benefiting from improved efficiency through sharing a number of business functions" - the process is expected to be completed by July 2015.

"By having both of our USA organisations located in Michigan, we shall be within the heartland of the USA automotive sector, where the headquarters of some of the most important, influential and significant automotive manufacturers and suppliers are based," added Gales.
