Fresh from its debut at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the W176 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift range has been showcased in this minute-and-a-half spot by the German carmaker. In said video, Mercedes-Benz has chosen to parade three models - the Mercedes-Benz A 220 d 4MATIC, a Motorsport Edition and, of course, the full-fat Mercedes-AMG A 45 hot hatch.
So, what exactly should you look out for in the video? First up, the refreshed W176 sports a restyled front grille design with a single-bar layout, replete with diamond studs on the new Style line. The AMG Line pack brings along a restyled front bumper and exhaust finishers, the latter now integrated into the rear bumper.
The Motorsport Edition featured in the video features a unique shade of green that may be familiar to those synonymous with the Petronas name. Said shade of green (turquoise?) gets applied to the front and rear bumper, the spoiler, rim of the wheels and side mirrors. Inside, the seats are trimmed in a leather and Dinamica micro-fibre combination with green accents on the seats and seat belts.
Finally, the range-topping Mercedes-AMG A 45 sports a restyled front bumper, new wheels, a more aggressive-looking rear diffuser and the new rear lamp graphics that accompany the entire facelifted W176 range. Inside, the car gets a new steering wheel and a larger centre screen along with redesigned buttons.
Under the bonnet, the turbocharged 2.0 litre four-banger now pumps out a total of 381 hp at 6,000 rpm and 475 Nm of torque at 2,250 to 5,000 rpm - which represents a jump of 21 hp and 25 Nm, respectively. Paired to a seven-speed AMG Speedshift DCT double-clutch gearbox with shorter ratios for the third and seventh gear, the A 45 sprints from nought to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 250 km/h.
