MSO 650S Spider-02

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has confirmed production plans for a run of bespoke examples of the McLaren 650S following positive reaction to the MSO 650S Coupe Concept shown in China earlier this year. The production car will make its debut, in Spider form, at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The MSO 650S carries many of the styling cues over from the original concept. The exterior is fitted with a number of carbon fibre styling upgrades with a satin finish, including extended MSO Side Blades. The three-piece rear bumper includes a CF centre section, and sits above a more aggressive rear diffuser.

The Palladium coloured 10-spoke "Super Lightweight" alloys, with a diamond cut effect to the inside edge of each spoke, save four kg over the standard rim, and are held in place by lightweight titanium bolts.

The MSO 650S is available in three special paint finishes - Papaya Spark is a modern twist on the famous McLaren Orange and is joined by Sarigan Quartz and Agrigan Black. The latter, featured on the concept, has deep ruby red metallic flakes. Sarigan Quartz, seen here, will be shown for the first time at Goodwood.

Inside, the MSO 650S is upholstered with carbon black leather and Alcantara, with satin lacquered CF detailing throughout. In contrast, a gloss finish has been applied to the air vents and switchgear. A signature dedication plaque mounted to the MSO-branded carbon sill panel completes the enhancements.

Pricing starts at £252,500 (RM1,383,480) for the Coupe and £272,500 (RM1,492,904) for the Spider, with first deliveries due before the end of the year. Each of the 50 units will be delivered with a Frank Stephenson-signed sketch and a luxury MSO branded leather holdall. The McLaren 650S was launched in Malaysia earlier this month, priced from RM2.4 million.
