The Volkswagen Vento facelift has been unveiled in India, following the update of its boot-less sibling, the Polo. The Vento is of course known in Malaysia as the Volkswagen Polo Sedan, where it was first launched as a 1.6 litre CBU import, then later reintroduced as a CKD.

The biggest change on the face would be the new headlamps, which now feature dual beams per headlamp. The area of the headlamp closer to the grille which used to be occupied by the turn signal now houses a new beam, while the turn signal has been moved to the bottom of the headlamp.

On the interior, there's the new three-spoke steering wheel from the Polo hatchback facelift, and the centre dash area is now trimmed in silver.

No changes to the petrol engines - other than the 105 PS, 153 Nm 1.6 litre MPI engine mated to a 6-speed auto, India also gets a 1.2 TSI option with 105 PS and 175 Nm, mated a 7-speed DSG. The diesel engine is new - a 1.5 TDI that does 105 PS and 250 Nm.
