Well, here it is - the first photos and details of the new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG, based on the new W205 C-Class. An officially press release is not out yet, but these pix have been saved from Mercedes-Benz Germany's site which published a page on the car for a while, but it's gone now.
Two variants are available - a "base" C 63 AMG if you could ever use such that word with this type of car, and an even more powerful C 63 AMG S.
The C 63 AMG's new 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine derived from the one in the Mercedes-AMG GT does 476 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, while the 510 hp and 700 Nm figures we previously wrote about turns out to be actually for the hotter C 63 AMG S.
Both engines are mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed automatic transmission, and the car also gets an AMG RIDE CONTROL three-stage adaptive suspension.
AMG styling include AMG front and rear aprons, side skirts, a bespoke radiator grille in iridium silver matte, 18 inch 5-spoke titanium grey wheels with 245/40R18 tyres at the front and 265/40R18 tyres at the rear, and an AMG badge on the left side of the bootlid, curiously.
We'll cover the car more thoroughly when the official release is out.
