Naza Kia officially launched the Kia Red Cube Rawang 4S Centre this morning. The impressive structure with a glass facade, easily the largest car outlet in Rawang, is the Korean brand's fifth Red Cube in the country.

Located at Lot 605, Batu 20, Jalan Rawang (next to Shell, northbound towards Serendah), the Kia Red Cube Rawang 4S Centre sits on a 37,314 sq.ft. area that includes a showroom which can accomodate six cars comfortably, 21 service bays that can serve 50 cars a day, body and paint facilities, customer lounge, delivery bay, Internet stations (with free WiFi) and kids playground room.

The RM11 million Red Cube #5 also uses Kia's new Global Space Identity. It will serve both the booming residential and significant industrial areas of Rawang, Selayang and Sungai Buloh, right up to Tanjung Malim.

Naza Kia also took the outlet launch as an opportunity to hold the prize-giving ceremony for the Kia Go-Xtra Campaign 2014, a customer loyalty programme now in its third year. It rewards owners who service their Kias at official service centres.

Three winners and their partners recently went on a 5D4N trip to South Korea where they visited Kia's manufacturing plant and R&D centre, besides sampling the local culture. Twenty consolation prize winners took home RM500 Kia service vouchers.

At a press conference after the event, Naza Kia COO Datuk Syed Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar admitted that at present, times aren't that good for the automotive industry as a whole, with carbuyers adopting a 'wait and see' attitude with the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the horizon.

He explained that cars may not become cheaper overnight as a direct result of GST (at 6%, replacing the 10% sales tax), as it's a multi-layered tax, not a one-off tax on the final price, and that of late, car prices have started to come down thanks to promotions by various makes. "Now is the best time to buy a car," he said.

The industry veteran remarked that this year is the first time where he has seen promotions starting from the beginning of the year and being sustained throughout, a sign of how competitive things are at present.

"For 2014, we are focusing to increase our sales volume to 11,300 (Naza Kia sold 10,493 units in 2013). Now in our fourth quarter, we are 68% into reaching our sales target for 2014. This is despite volatile market response and aggressive competition by other auto brands in Malaysia," he added.

Naza Kia sells the Picanto, Rio, Cerato, Optima K5, Sportage and Sorento in Malaysia.
