Lexus Malaysia has kicked off its run-in to the Lexus NX's introduction in the country - a NX 300h example is on display at the UMW Toyota booth at the 5th International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition (IGEM) in KLCC, which runs from today until Sunday.

The unit on display isn't a Malaysian-specification vehicle - it's on loan from Thailand, and in terms of trim and spec, is actually closer to the baseline NX 200t that we'll be getting, with items like the 17-inch 10-spoke alloys and 225/65 tyres giving it away.

Basically, the display vehicle is more a preview of the form rather than features or kit to expect. Access to the interior was initially unavailable, since this is not representative of what we'll be getting anyway, but the UMW Toyota folk were kind enough to allow us to get some snaps of the cabin.

We'll be getting the NX 300h, as well as four variants of the NX 200t, when the SUV goes on sale here next year. The NX 300h is powered by a hybrid system comprised of a 2.5 litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine with 153 hp and 210 Nm and two-motor system, with a combined output of 194 hp, paired with a CVT transmission.

Stay tuned for more news on the Lexus NX very shortly.
