For those who are unaware, the 2016 Ford Focus RS was unveiled at a preview event in Cologne, Germany, just recently ahead of its debut at the upcoming 2015 Geneva motor show. Under the hood, the third-generation Focus RS is powered by a turbocharged, 2.3 litre four-cylinder EcoBoost mill - the same on the S550 Mustang - with more than 320 hp quoted.
Unlike its immediate predecessor, the new Ford Focus RS will feature a Ford Performance AWD system with Dynamic Torque Vectoring and the only transmission choice is that of the six-speed manual variety. Another familiar name to be affiliated with modern high-performance Ford models is a certain Mr. Ken Block.
The Gymkhana superstar served as a consultant for the 2016 Ford Focus RS and can be seen in the video taking it for a shakedown around Ford's Cologne plant. Naturally, the Ford/Block combination has resulted in a clip loaded with ingenious cinematography and equally inventive automotive choreography.
Fans of the RS all over the world can look forward to a sales date sometime next year with production slated to begin at the end of 2015 - and yes, the Ford Focus RS will be available worldwide. All is well.
