Citroen-Berlingo-4

The Citroen Berlingo has been given a second facelift ahead of the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March – the big French box gets a range of revamps to freshen it up after seven years on the market.

Starting with the aesthetics, the Berlingo receives a remodelled front bumper, with the LED daytime running lights on higher-end models positioned lower down – a move which is said to suggest "greater power." Two new colour choices, Acier Grey and Moka Brown (no, the latter is not a typo), have also been added.

The interior sees the introduction of two new upholstery choices – Délice Grey Quad fabric with turquoise topstitching and Liberia fabric with ochre topstitching. A new Touchdrive infotainment system with a seven-inch display also joins the options list, providing navigation and Mirror Screen functionality for smartphones, the latter coming on stream in November.

Like the recently-updated Volkswagen Caddy, the new Berlingo will get Active City Braking, also in November, to comply with new European commercial vehicle safety regulations. Front parking sensors have also been fitted to complement the current rear sensors, while a reversing camera is offered as an optional extra.

New for 2015 are new Euro 6-compliant BlueHDi 75, 100 and 120 engines, upgraded over their previous HDi equivalents with an oxidation catalyst, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and an additive particulate filter. The electric version with a 170 km range remains on the lineup.
