Aston Martin has released details and pics of the Vantage GT3 special edition it is bringing to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show together with the new Vulcan. The most potent and uncompromising Vantage to date, the GT3 special edition is limited to just 100 track-inspired examples.
Powered by a revised version of the brand's AM28 6.0 litre V12 engine with up to 600 PS (from 573 PS previously), the GT3 weighs 100 kg less than a standard V12 Vantage S at only 1,565 kg. Magnesium inlet manifolds with revised geometry, a lightweight magnesium torque tube and a full titanium exhaust system with centre outlets are highlights.
The special edition is lower and wider than its siblings. Broader tracks - front and rear - brings more composed cornering thanks to a reduction in lateral load transfer, while the use of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres means more grip.
New flared carbon-fibre front wings, CF bonnet, a lithium ion race-derived battery, CF door casings, optional CF roof, optional weight-saving polycarbonate rear window and rear quarter windows are just a few of the mass eliminating measures. There's also a track-focused aerodynamics pack which includes a prominent rear wing and pronounced front splitter.
The car's interior has been reworked, too, with a full carbon-fibre centre stack and touch-sensitive control array; race-derived carbon-fibre sports seats; Alcantara trim and the option of numerous bespoke features courtesy of the brand's "Q by Aston Martin" personalisation service.
First customer deliveries are set to start in the third quarter of 2015.
