Infiniti Q50S Hybrid 49

The Infiniti Q50 2.0 turbo now comes with the option of a front sport bumper and 19-inch alloys, the two items that make the flagship 3.5 hybrid look as good as it does. This was announced via press ads that appeared over the weekend.

We enquired and found out that the front sport bumper and 19-inch rim upgrade can be had for RM10,000. That's a decent deal, but it's only valid for the higher 2.0 GT Premium variant.

There's an upgrade for the entry-level 2.0 GT too - the GT Premium's 18-inch wheels (an inch up from the standard 17s) for RM7,000. All wheel upgrade prices include run flat tyres. In addition, the GT Premium now comes with a TCAT navigation system, a RM3,500 option for the GT.

Interestingly, there are some changes in pricing as well. The CBU from Japan range now starts from RM239,800 for the 2.0 GT, which is around RM7,000 lower than before. Throw in the wheel upgrade and you'll be near the original price at RM246,800.

No price change for the 2.0 GT Premium at RM275,800, but it now comes with the above-mentioned navi system. The new, fully-optioned 2.0 GT Premium Sport with the sharp jaw and big wheels clocks in at RM285,800. Prices are OTR with GST excluding insurance.

The Q50, Infiniti's rival to the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Lexus IS, was launched here in August 2014. The turbo variant is powered by a Mercedes-sourced 2.0 litre engine with 211 hp and 350 Nm, paired to a seven-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. 0 to 100 km/h is done in 7.2 seconds and top speed is 245 km/h. There's also a 298 hp/338 Nm 3.5 V6 Hybrid model going for RM390k.
