Roadworks on Jalan Genting Kelang have completed, opening up additional lanes for road users to travel on. The lanes have been increased from four to six and stretches for 1.5 km in total. According to a report in The Star, total cost for the entire project was RM 39.6 million.

Undertaken by Seroja Angerrik Development, the recently-concluded two-phase upgrading works started from the junction at Jalan 1/27A all the way to the MRR2, while phase two which was completed on July 15 this year, continued on from Jalan Air Panas to Jalan 1/27A, in which road widening works was carried out.

Jalan Genting Kelang connects a number of residential areas like Wangsa Maju, Taman Bunga Raya, Taman Melati, Taman Permata and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman to the city, which means traffic is expected to be less congested now that road widening works have been done.

Federal Territories Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said traffic congestion would be reduced along Jalan Genting Kelang now that there is a direct flow from Bulatan Pahang to the MRR2.
