Nasim has officially launched the facelifted Peugeot 5008 at its new outlet in Johor Bahru. The refreshed seven-seat MPV is on sale now, retailing at RM159,888 on the road with insurance. That is the same price as the outgoing model, and over RM3,000 less than previously estimated.
As previously reported, the new 5008 receives new adaptive bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights as well as a new front fascia, while the interior gains the retractable seven-inch touchscreen, navigation, revised audio controls and colour head-up display from the 3008 facelift.
The big change, of course, is the revised Prince 1.6 litre turbocharged engine, now making 163 hp at 6,000 rpm and 240 Nm from 1,400 rpm to 4,250 rpm. Mated to the same six-speed automatic as before, it goes from 0-100 km/h in 10.8 seconds on its way to an electronically-limited top speed of 195 km/h, while returning a fuel consumption figure of 7.9 litres per 100 km.
Elsewhere, the specs remain unchanged, so you still get cruise control, front and rear parking sensors with Available Space Management (ASM), a panoramic roof, an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, second-row air-conditioning vents and a second-row multimedia system with displays at the back of the front headrests.
Safety equipment also hasn't been touched, the new 5008 retaining its six airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, ESP, Distance Alert, anti-whiplash front headrests and ISOFIX mounting points for the two outer second row seats.
Colours available include Pearl White, Shark Grey, Rich Oak, Artense Grey and Bourrasque Blue. As will all Peugeots sold in Malaysia, the facelifted Peugeot 5008 comes with a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty as well as a 24-hour Peugeot Assistance service.
