It's teaser season it seems, because Mercedes-Benz has also joined in on the action with a teaser photo and video of the new Mercedes-AMG GT sports car as well as an entire website dedicated to it.

We already know what the stylish interior will look like, but this is the first, albeit rather obscured glimpse of the exterior. It's pretty much what everyone expected – SLS-esque proportions with a long nose, short tail and sloping roofline, large headlights with LED daytime running lights and narrow-set LED tail lights.

Through the video, we also get a good and proper earful of the glorious engine noises, set to come from AMG's new 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 in at least three guises, from a base tune of about 480 hp (same tune as on the next C 63 AMG?) all the way to full-fat Black Series spec with around 600 hp.

Said to arrive in the "autumn of 2014", the Mercedes-AMG GT was originally expected to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September, but it is now rumoured that we could get a first look as early as July at the German Grand Prix.
