The 2015 Porsche 911 GTS range has been unveiled to assume the position between the existing 911 Carrera S and the track-optimised 911 GT3. Offered in both coupe and cabriolet bodystyles – each with a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive - the 991-generation 911 GTS gets a 430 hp 3.8 litre flat-six engine – 30 hp more than the Carrera S.
That translates to slightly better 0-100 km/h times, with the GTS Coupe doing the deed in 4.0 seconds flat, and the GTS Cabrio in 4.2 seconds. Top speeds of all models exceed the 300 km/h mark, with the rear-wheel drive coupe with manual transmission maxing out at 306 km/h. Fuel economy is unchanged, however, at as low as 8.7 litres per 100 km.
Other mechanical changes over the regular models include the inclusion of the Sport Chrono package, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) dynamic dampers (10 mm lower) and sports exhaust system as standard fitment. All models get the 911 Carrera 4's wider rear track with matching flared wheelarches too.
Like the Cayenne, Panamera, Boxster and Cayman GTS models before it, the 911 Gran Turismo Sport range gets bespoke smoked headlamps, unique black air intakes, black chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes, matte black 20-inch wheels and of course, its fair share of GTS badges. Leather and Alcantara adorn the interior, naturally.
