See the Honda Civic Type R Concept in all its glory here, live on the stand at the ongoing Paris motor show! The garang-looking concept first turned up at the Geneva show in March; here it makes a comeback clad in luminous blue.
Accompanying the concept's second motor show appearance is a raft of juicy information on what to expect in the production Civic Type R - a new 280 PS 2.0 litre i-VTEC direct-injected turbo engine with a 7,000 rpm limit, a six-speed do-it-yourself gearbox and new four-point adaptive dampers. There'll also be an exciting-sounding '+R mode' that alters the engine mapping, steering and dampers for track driving.
You can bet your last sen it's going to be the most hardcore CTR yet - with it, Honda hopes to snatch the Nurburgring front-wheel drive lap time crown from the seven-minute, 54-second Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R. They also say it'll be better than Type Rs of yore - NSX, Integra and Accord included!
Many of the styling features you see here are functional. The two-tier rear wing's shape and angle is the result of track testing on the 'Ring, and the enlarged upper and lower front grilles, along with the bonnet louvres, provide cooling.
Front and rear wings have been widened to fit 20-inch wheels, with integrated outlets to optimise airflow. And just look at those quad tailpipes nestling within that rear diffuser. And the rear wing-integrated tail lamps that look like the Devil's horns.
We are literally salivating in anticipation.
