Maserati is celebrating its 100th birthday this year and the Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition is set to receive its public unveiling at the 2014 Paris motor show as one of the brand's birthday gift to itself.
Designed in collaboration with Ermenegildo Zegna - which was also responsible for the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition, the car features a tri-coated paint finish known as Azzuro Astro. It rides on 20-inch Urano wheels finished in what Maserati calls a 'Liquid Metal' finish.
On the interior is where the results of the collaboration gets more apparent. The seats are now featured with a dual-colour, dual-material finish. Tanned leather is located on the outer portion while Zegna anthracite silk provides the contrast.
Zegna silk jersey with a diagonal roll pattern with ornamental stitching and alternating rib embroideries line the roof, part of the door panels, the top pillars and sunshades.
Carbon fibre is applied liberally across the cabin as well, covering most of the centre console, transmission tunnel and door panels. Other details exclusive to the car include an Ermenegildo Zegna Edition plate on the external central pillar and tunnel between the front seats.
Technical specifications remain the same as the regular Ghibli S Q4. A 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6, paired to a four-wheel drive system, produces 410 hp and 550 Nm of torque, allowing the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 284 km/h. Transmission is a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
