Heaven knows how many special-edition, tuned hachirokus there have been since the sports coupe's 2011 reincarnation; here comes another to make us lose count once again.

This is the Toyota 86 14R60, a limited-edition 86 that's been released for Japan. The 2.0 litre flat-four features an improved air intake, an upgraded air filter and an auxiliary oil cooler, so it should make a little more than the 200 PS and 205 Nm of torque we're familiar with.

The six-speed manual gearbox has been enhanced with revised gearing, a lightweight flywheel, a performance clutch, and working to improve handling are braces on the struts and in the boot, plus a limited-slip diff and an adjustable suspension with revised bushings.

The anchors have been uprated as well - at the front sit 365 mm discs clamped by 6-pot callipers, while 330 mm discs and two-pot callipers bring up the rear.

Bodykit's a given, of course, and it includes restyled bumpers with carbon-fibre canards, side skirts and flared wheelarches. You'll also find a carbon-fibre roof, a GT-style rear wing, twin central tailpipes, a rear diffuser and 18-inch forged magnesium wheels wrapped in Bridgestone 235/40 series rubber.

Step aboard and you'll find a steering wheel, gear knob, gear gaiter and handbrake gaiter wrapped in Alcantara, as well as sports seats, TRD-branded sill plates and floor mats. According to 7Tune, production of the Toyota 86 14R60 is limited to 100 units, and they'll cost from 6.3 million yen (RM189k) a pop.
