Lexus' very-own RC two-door coupe will be getting a new engine option in Europe, the company recently announced. The Lexus RC 200t will feature a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine lifted from the NX 200t and the recently-announced IS 200t.
Weighing in at just 160 kg, the inline four-cylinder engine produces an output of 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It's mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission in the RC, enabling it to go from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds - slower than both the NX 200t (7.1 secs) and IS 200t (7.0 secs). Fuel consumption for the RC 200t on the European combined cycle is claimed to be 7.5 litres per 100 km.
The Lexus RC 200t can also be had in an higher-specced F Sport variant. The upgrade adds on a Torsen limited-slip differential with retuned front and rear suspension settings for enhanced handling. It's also differentiated through a wider and lower F mesh spindle grille, plus perforated leather-wrapped steering wheels and gear knob, aluminium pedals and scuff plates on the inside.
Additionally, the F Sport also comes with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) that automatically adjusts the damping force of the shock absorbers for better cornering stability and added comfort. The updated RC 200t will come with a selection of 17- to 19-inch wheels, while the F Sport gets bespoke 19-inch rims as standard.
This begs another question, of course. This, or the BMW 428i Coupe?
