There are so many MINIs these days. Original Hatch aside, we have a maxi MINI, a coupe version of that maxi, Coupe, Roadster, Convertible and "wagon" Clubman, to name them all. One body style is still missing though, and it's the pick-up truck.
A creative collaboration between young apprentices and their instructors at BMW has produced the MINI Paceman Adventure Concept. Based on the Cooper S Paceman (that's the "Countryman Coupe"), the PAC is a two-seater with a pick-up style cargo bed. With modified suspension, high ground clearance, off-road tyres and ALL4 all-wheel-drive, it should be decently capable off the tarmac.
To aid the cause, there's a snorkel-like roof level air intake for river crossings, and a solid roof rack. The latter accommodates a spare wheel and additional lights mounted on the front cross member. The tough guy look is enhanced by the Jungle Green paintwork, the hero colour of the recently refreshed MINI Countryman.
Alas, the MINI Paceman Adventure is a one-off experiment and there are no plans for series production. A shame, because it's quite cool even for this sceptic. What do you think?
